Considering the valuable experiences of the Iran's Health Care System during the last two decades in the country and considering the changes in public health indicators, as well as increasing the role of social determinants of health, Mashhad University of Medical Sciences attempts to established the "Social Determinants of Health Research Center".

The Principal Consent to establishment of “Social Determinants of Health Research Center” was adopted with the efforts of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences and the founding board of the center. Finally, the establishment of SDHRC Was Approved on December 18th, 2016 by the Council for the Development of the Universities of Medical Sciences of the Country.

SDHRC has an active collaboration with the faculty members, and succeeded to achieve the 3d rank in 2019 between biomedical research centers with 1-3 years' experiences of establishment.
